* the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation concentrates on assisting people in the Southeast to build just and caring communities that nurture people, spur enterprise, bridge differences, foster fairness and promote civility. The Foundation places special emphasis on community-building that seeks to assure the well being of children, youth and families; bridge the fault lines of race and class; and invest in communities' human and natural resources.
* The Appalachian Community Fund was established in 1987 to provide grants to groups promoting progressive change in the central region of Appalachia (east Tennessee, eastern Kentucky, southwest Virginia and all of West Virginia ). Established to bring new resources into the region for community organizing and social change, ACF also seeks to build a long term resource base and to expand community philanthropy in the region.
* The East Tennessee Foundation is a regional community foundation serving 24 counties in East Tennessee. Its mission is to enrich the quality of life in our area by developing a pool of endowment funds to be used for the good of our region and its people. The following East Tennessee countries are within Foundation's service area: Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, McMinn, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Scott, Sevier, Unicoi, Union, and Washington.
* The Institute for Community Peace , serves as a leading national organization working to prevent violence and promote peace. ICP is guided by three fundamental beliefs: that violence is preventable, peace is possible, and that both are best achieved through community-driven strategies that demonstrate the power of collective action.
